9 United: The weather

• People in Britain always talk about the weather: If it is rainy, they say it is too wet. If it is sunny, the say it's too cold. If it is good, they say it's too hot.
• Winter is cold and wet but doesn't often snow. Spring is warmer.
• Summer can be very hot. Autum is foggy, cold, wet and the leaves fall from trees.
• The Meet Office is one of the most important weather centres in the world.
• It has two supercomputer that analyse information and it makes the weather forecast.
• The met office also looks ot the evironment.
• The weather changes very quicky and so people don't believe the weather forecast!!!!!!!!

8 United: The books

• British people have a hobby: Reading. A quarter of the population reads more than 20 books each year.
  
• There are lots of bokshops and libraries.
  
• In labraries you can also have coffe, CD., videos...


• The British Library is one of the biggest in the world.

• The Queen open it in 1998.

7 United: Sports

• Sport is very popular in Britain.


• Football is the national sport. The top level of the game is protfessional football in the Premiership. Both girls and boys play pay football.


• Cricket is the main summer sport. It is played between to wo teams of 11 people.


• Tennis is also popular in summer.


• Other famous sports are golf, cycling, keep fit and walking.

6 United: The animals

• Some animal, are in danger of extinction becauce the man kills them (rhinos, sharks, elephants, chimpanzees..)

• The man also destroys rainforest's.

• Animals born in Britain are now back in Africa.

5 United: Homes in Britain

• In Britain 90% of people, usually in terraced house(hoses joined together) in row.

• 60% live in semi-detached houses (two houses joined together).

• Other people live in flats, especially in the city.

• A " cottage" is a small country house.

• British people spend money and time on their homes and gardens.

• DIY (Do It Yourself)is very popular.

4 United: Shopping

• many people in Britain like the shopping, 56% of women bitween the ages of 16 and 40 as their main hobby.


• They often go shopping eredy day!

people don't only go shopping in town, they go to. out-oj-town shopping centres.

These shopping centres usally have restaurants and cinemas. They are open late most night, so you can ho shpping when do you want!!!

3 United: The school day

• Most students in Britain, the school day starts between eight therty and nine o'clock.
  
• The students travel to school using a differents transports, example: some go by bike, also catch the bus or walk.
• The school day stats with registration the teacher checks everybodi is in clasroom.
  
• After two clas or three there is a beak, about 15 minutes. When students go out to play or talking.
• 
  After break it's bact to work.
  
• After lunch, the students study the the main subject the school timetable. The school finiches after 5 lessons. The students have homework.

2 United: Packed lunch

• Most schools in Britain rovide hot meal and salads every day
• But many students prefer to make her lunch.
• Old the students eating withs her friends in the school cafeteria.
• Sweets and chocolate isn't good for students but these foods are every where!

• The British Government is worried that many children are obese.
• They want people to eat five pieces of frouit and vegetables every day.
• The schools in England hepls students to eat healthy food with the Green Machine.
• Green Machine have got good snaks. There are cereal bars, organic crisps, and the drink in Green Machine are healthy as well.
• There are fruit juices, mineral water and smoothies.
• The smoothies are delicious youghert and fruit.
• These students are enjoying thir food and it's good them too.

1 United: The royal family

• British is a big and interesting city.
  
• The queen of England is Elisabeth the Second. Her husband's name's is the Duke of Edinburgh.
  
• They have four childreen: Prince Charles (is very handsome), Prince William and Prince Harry.


• The Queen lives in a palace in London - Buckingham Palace


• Inside the palace, the Queen has got a soldier guard the palace.


• The Royal Family have got a caste near London, the Queen lives here sometimes


• The Queen's has got grand children's: Prince William and Prince Harry.


• They are sons of Princess Diana And prince William.


• William was born in 1982 and harry in 1984.


• In 1987 William and Harry visited in Majorca on holiday with the Royal Spanish Family.


• Prince Charles, Prince William an Prince harry like ride horses and Play Polo.
  
• When they're live here in Clarence house. They don't live in Buckingham palace.

  They also live in a house in the country called Highgrove.


• Prince Harry wants to be a soldier in the army.
